This week, I wrote about reshaping personal growth challenges to be more mindful, more aligned with who you are and not what’s trending. If you haven’t read that post yet, https://gerryvanderwalt.com/the-power-of-pacing-making-performance-driven-habits-work-for-you/
Today, I want to offer you something different: a pause.
We spend so much time trying to improve ourselves… stacking habits, chasing progress, performing better. But how often do you stop and truly acknowledge what you’re already doing well?
Not for likes.
Not for applause.
Just for you.
When was the last time you took in all the positive habits you’ve picked up over the past few weeks, months, or even years?
This is your invitation to celebrate them. The loud ones, the quiet ones, especially the ones no one else sees.
The ones that don’t make it to your Instagram story.
The ones that took everything in you to keep going with, even when no one noticed.
These are the wins that matter most – the silent victories.
Maybe it’s the way you hydrate daily without skipping a beat.
Next time you drink water, pause and be grateful – for the clean water, for the energy you’re fuelling, for the day that made you thirsty.
Maybe it’s journaling after everyone’s gone to bed.
Take a moment to appreciate that you made space in your life for stillness and reflection. That you are showing up for yourself.
Gratitude is the foundation of sustainable growth. Presence is what keeps us grounded.
So here’s your call to action:
Pause. Reflect. Celebrate.
And then… keep going.
Questions to ask yourself today:
- What habits have I been consistent with lately?
- Which ones have become part of my identity?
- How can I honour those wins, quietly or loudly, today?
You’re further than you think. Let yourself feel that.
