When Last Did You Look for the Good?

Date: June 13, 2025

We live in a world that thrives on stress, drama, and noise.
We’re conditioned to notice what’s wrong – the unread emails, the growing to-do list, the worry you went to bed with and woke up to again. And yes, those things matter. Life has real pressure.

But sometimes… the bad things feel bigger than they are, not because they are so big, but because they’ve taken over our mental spotlight.

What if you took the blinders off for a moment?

What if you paused – right now – to look at what’s going right?

The first sip of coffee in the morning.
The feeling of embracing your loved one when see them.
The way your dog looks at you when it’s time for a walk.
The calm that takes over you when you look up at the full moon.
The texts you haven’t replied to yet – but that remind you how many people care.
The taste of the meal you have been waiting for all day.

It’s not about ignoring the hard stuff. It’s about not forgetting the good stuff.
Because if you’re not careful, you’ll miss it.

We’re not always taught to celebrate ordinary joy. But maybe we should be. Because it’s often those small, consistent pleasures – the ones you almost overlook – that are holding you together.

Shifting your attention doesn’t mean denying reality. It means widening the frame.

So today, I invite you to look again.
Really look.
And let yourself smile at what you find.

If you feel like nothing good is happening in your life right now, I encourage you to look around and write down 3 small things that could bring you joy today – and why they matter.
