Photographic Expeditions

Small Groups. Real Field Time. 14 Years of This.

All photographic expeditions run through Wild Eye, the company I co-founded. Small groups. Real time in the field. Teaching in the moment, not in a classroom.

Photography presentations, technical photographic education, and all photographic tours on this page are delivered in conjunction with Wild Eye. As a co-founder and shareholder I remain intimately involved with the Wild Eye logistics team on every departure I run. Fourteen years building one of Africa's leading photographic safari operations means the creative and operational side is in experienced hands.

These are the expeditions I lead personally. Same Wild Eye standard. My presence, my teaching, my 14 years of field experience added on top.

[Upcoming trip dates announced through Wild Eye. Check wild-eye.com for the latest schedule or leave your email below to know when I'm hosting next.]

I built the company. I trained the guides. Even when I'm not leading, the standard is mine. Wild Eye runs expeditions across Southern and East Africa year-round.

Small Groups

Never more than a handful of people. Enough space to shoot. Enough attention to learn.

Real Field Time

Long hours in the field. Not rushed drives between meals. The photography comes first.

Teaching in the Moment

Not a lecture. Not a slideshow. Feedback and guidance while you're shooting. In the light. In the conditions. Real time.

"Gerry kept highlighting that we should not just wait for the perfect shot but try to make the best of a situation that might not be perfect at first."

Daniela Nievergelt, Safari Guest

"I can't thank Gerry enough for taking the time to look at my fledgling website with me. Professional, knowledgeable, and genuinely generous with his time."

Tracy Miller, Safari Guest
